Specs mention working with Windows 7. Does it work with Windows 8, 8.1?

Yup. Tested it just this past week with a range of operating systems (including windows 8) and it works on all of them.

Will this device allow 2 audio outputs from the same source... For example can I use a usb headset plugged into a USB port and have my speakers through this device and be able to hear them both at the same time?

No.  When I plug in a USB headset, I have to choose between the headset and this device for output.  That's probably a function of the operating system (it can send only to one port) rather than the device, so it's possible you could find third-party software that would permit it.

Question 3

The black version of this USB audio adapter is only mono, correct?

Unknown.  I purchased the white one.  It is stereo.  Why would a color change have different circuitry?  It is simple to use.  The sound on my toshiba laptop died.  This was a great alternative and cheap alternative, to the silence.  You still need speakers though!

Will it accept a 1/4 inch audio cable to input into my mackie mixer that is sending output to my pa system? I am striving for a better quality audio output while playing karaokee tracks...

Output is via a 3.5 mm stereo jack.  You would need an adapter for your cable.  The output level is suitable for headphones, which may or may not be compatible with your particular PA system.

I have a headset that has two jacks, a pink one for mic and a green one for audio, will this work for it?

Yes. This device actually has one input and one output (3.5mm jacks). They're both black, but have labels for "headphones" and "microphone" on the side.
