Pros: No trouble installing on my office Server with SBS 2011. Was concerned because Newegg website mentions support, but document with card does not mention Server 2008 R2 (does support Server 2012 and Windows 7,8,10).
This card is much faster than previous USB 3.0 card even with USB 3.0 devices
Cons: Wish there were 2 more ports.
Overall Review: Did use install executable from website with no problems.
Pros: This Card works flawlessly with the Oculus Rift S on WIndows 10.
-Windows 10 Drivers work flawlessly.
-Came with a drivers CD with is useful for older OS's
Cons: - did not come with a retaining screw for installation.
Overall Review: This product is great and was an easy install. This works PERFECTLY with the Oculus Rift S.
If you are looking for a good cheap card in canada that WILL work this one will
It uses the ASMEDIA ASM2142 Chipset which IS supported by oculus.
Cons: Will not work on my older motherboard.
Overall Review: Gigabyte tech was weak with help. Just tell me my mobo wasn’t built to support windows 10. The board has a empty pciex8 slot but it won’t run this board.
Pros: Fast speeds and resolved issues I had with onboard USB from my motherboard and a capture card.
Overall Review: Does exactly what it says. Had issues with an elgato capture card dropping frames and not working properly when set to 1080p60 using integrated USB on the motherboard. Tried a cheap USB card and this did not help. The Startech card gave me two solid, stable high speed ports that resolved the issues with my capture card. Would recommend to anyone having USB issues.
Pros: After getting a blazing, for me, 281 mb/s read rate, my Anker 7 Port USB 3.0 hub slowed down to 89 mb/s. I unplugged 4 of the ports and for a short period the one SD card reader jumped back to 280+ mb/s. This short dropped back to 91 mb/s. Finally, replaced the Anker SD card reader with a Lexas USB 3.1 SD card reader and am now back up to 281 mb/s. What is going on?
Cons: The plate that mounts to the computers frame doesn't line up. It took a half dozen attempts to bend it this way and that until I was able to tighten down the screw without the card slipping out of the PCIe slot. This is a real problem as I was not confident that the card was seated properly when I finally got it secured. However, it seems to be working fine.
Pros: Looks well made - gold plated circuit board and connectors. Great Specs.
Cons: I was never able to get my Lenovo Windows 10 machine to see the device reliably. PnP/Device Manager showed it once or twice, but never consistently when I plugged the card into the PCI Express x4 bus. My PCI Express port checked out 100% functional with two other cards and the connectors looked fine on both my side and the USB card. I suspect some sort of flakiness on the board - i.e. noise or voltage sensitivity. All this with 3 different boards tried and exactly the same results.
Overall Review: I can't recommend it.
