The USB3SPLATE 2-Port USB 3.0 A Slot Plate converts the USB pins on the USB 3.0 motherboard header to 2 standard USB 3.0 A-type ports. The plate can be mounted on the rear panel of a computer case, adding two USB 3.0 A female ports for simple connection to USB peripheral devices.
The USB 3.0 standard supports transfer rates of up to 5Gbps, and provides connectivity and support for older USB 2.0 (480Mbps) and 1.1 (12Mbps) devices.
Pros: -Quick & Easy Installation
-No problems with system recognizing the ports
-No drivers to install
-Long cable if needed.
Cons: -Extra length of cable is a bit tough to work with as the cable is thick, and not very flexible if your run to the motherboard header is short.
Overall Review: As a PC Flight sim enthusiast I can never have enough USB ports for peripherals.
To put this in perspective, my motherboard offers a whopping 9 on-board rear panel USB ports and my case provides another four at the front panel.
I purchased this to not only increase total USB at the rear panel, but to add more 3.0 ports.
Overall Review: This is a simple piece of equipment, just a cable with connectors at each end and a bracket to attach it to your PC case. Nevertheless, it is a nice way to make use of the USB3.0 internal MB connectors that could be otherwise be wasted. I am very happy with this purchase.
Great USB 3 connection addition2/9/2021 8:52:54 AM
Pros: The install was quick, just plug into the motherboard, install into open computer PCI plate slot. The motherboard will recognize it when it boots up and MS Windows recognizes it. Plug and Play!
I have a ATXm motherboard with available PCIe slots filled, so adding more USB 3 ports was a plus going this route.
Cons: There are actually 2 cables between the plate connectors and the motherboard connector. They are sizable and can be a bit tough to route. But they should carry the coorect voltage/amps to make portable hard drives operate correctly. So far so good.
Overall Review: I would recommend this product to obtain more USB 3 ports

Works Great4/10/2018 6:16:50 PM
Pros: Very simple to hook up and does what it said it would do
Pros: -tough to find a usb3.0 mobo to female cable on its own. buy this, unscrew it from the back plate and you have your converter. this is because some cases only come with male ended usb3.0 cables.
Cons: -shipped very kinked up. i had a look at the cable and the plastic was showing signs of compression/stretch stress. they should just ship in this by looping it in a big circle
-newegg wouldn't ship this as part of my other items. an extra $10 for no reason. but i needed it. maybe newegg will start doing this for lots of other items. mildly annoyed
Pros: -Quick & Easy Installation -No problems with system recognizing the ports -No drivers to install -Long cable if needed.
Cons: -Extra length of cable is a bit tough to work with as the cable is thick, and not very flexible if your run to the motherboard header is short.
