The title says it converts to Displayport to HDMI, but the picture clearly shows that it converts hdmi to displayport. Which is it?

I think you are misinterpreting the picture. This is definitely a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, not the other way around. The DP end plugs into the device you want to display from. You use the HDMI end to connect your HDMI cable up to monitor, TV or projector you want you display though.

Is this adapter compatible with older versions of DisplayPort and HDMI?

Yes, the adapter works with DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b equipment and is backward compatible, fully supporting earlier versions.

What resolutions can this DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter support?

This adapter supports maximum digital resolutions of 4096 X 2160 at 24Hz and 3840 X 2160 at 60Hz, as well as lower resolutions and refresh rates.
