Yes. It installed by itself w/o intervention. Using with 32ch digital mixer, seems to work just fine.

Question 2

I have a Dell Vostro 1700 laptop that I have window 7 on it, my 4pin firewire on it works my cameras ect. I want the firewire 800 as I am hooking up my presonus 16.4.2AI digital mixer and need that, will this card work in my laptops express card slot? Thanks?

Since I am also a fan of presonus (the firestudio 26x26 for me and digimax fs's) I found out the hard way with multiple computers (desktops and laptops), that presonus is picky. Somewhere on their website or in my manuals I downloaded, I found a confirmed verified list of cards that will work with my firestudio. I recommend you do the same for your 16 channel mixer.

Question 3

I have an IEEE 1394 firewire notebook adapter for my computer.  What I am trying to do is have my adapter inserted in my computer not to be removed and have a firewire from my adapter to a male adapter?  I would not like to remove my card adapter from my computer.  Problem we are having is personnel are inserting the card wrong and bending pins inside the computer?  any help would be great.  thanks

This product sticks out of the ExpressCard slot quite a ways and is easily removable...I cant see a way that it could be locked in place to prevent what you describe...
