Can you use this gender changer to put two male cables together?

Yes, That's what I used it for. I have a dual monitor setup and the cable that came with the monitor wasn't long enough so i used this adapter and another cable i already had. works great no problems with it in almost a year of use.

I have an old zt 930 computer.  It has two HD15 ports on the back (next to each other).  One is a male and one is a female.  Are they both video ports?  Can I use your gender changer to use the two ports to control two different monitors simultaneously?

I bet if you look closely at those ports you'll find 1 has 3 rows of pins for a total of 15 (VGA or DB15), and the other only has 2 rows of pins and a total of 9 (serial, RS232 or DB9).

1 is for video, the other is for things like connecting to external modems or to program network switches.

If it looks like this will plug in, then it is not for video.
