I think you need a VGA to HDMI adapter. Check your ports. This particular adapter is a Thunderbolt to HDMI

This is an active display adaptor. The ability to change it is under projector settings in windows. It works really well although sound output is sometimes non existent.

sorry, this is not a mini display port adapter, the mini is about half to 2/3  of this size

According to the overview it looks like it will only go up to 1920x1200 for PC, and only 1080p for HDTV's.  I have no experience with this, but I don't think it would support 2560x1580.
