From what I have gathered, It depends on the motherboard (Due to this specific Adapter model being directly connected to the motherboard). If the desktop still has the original motherboard you should be okay. Please do not consider my comment to be professional, I have obtained the computer knowledge that of a hobbyist.

Would this product fit in a DELL Vostros 200 computer?

Check the specifications for your Dell computer.  The card fits in a PC-I Express 2.0 card slot.  If yours does not have such a slot it will not physically fit.  If it has a PCI 3.0 slot (improbable) it will fit but will run at the slower PC-I 2.0 speed.  It has been an excellent card, no problems with installation and consistently runs at the top speed. i know the compatibility is included in the specs, but i need to know if this will work with a 802.11AC gigabit router. i'm building my own PC and need a wifi card, so will this work? and if so will it work well? if not do you know of any better cards to use at a lower price range?

It will only work if your router also uses any of the b/g/n besides the ac band. If you have an router that can use the new ac band I strongly suggest getting a wireless card that can run at the increased speeds as well otherwise your just wasting potential from your router. It will work and it should work well but it's not the best option by far. Just my 2 cents
