Hi, is this compatible with windows 8?

I bought this to use for outgoing faxes.  Windows 8.1 recognized the device, but was unable to send a fax from Windows Fax and Scan.  Device did not dial the telephone.  After a few minutes, Windows Fax and Scan displayed a connection error.  I have not dug into it yet, as my schedule has been full.  I can't say if the device is defective, not Windows 8.1 compatible or if the fault lies with Fax and Scan.  Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Oops, I misread the type of modem.  I don't actually know if this one is Windows 8 and 8.1 compliant.
