The STARTECH RS-232 to RS-485/422 Serial Converter is an easy way to make your devices with RS-232 ports to adapt to environments where RS-485/422 is used. It converts RS232C signals to either RS-485 or RS-422 signals. You can use your existing RS-232 device to control or monitor RS-485/422 signals up to 4000 ft. away. The converter is also equipped with a handy DCE/DTE mode selection switch, and supports point-to-point multidrop configuration and full/half duplex operation. It draws power from the RS-232 connecter or by using the included 9V power adapter. The durable plastic construction ensures long-lasting use.
