Pros: Works fine, fits the mSATA drive that came out of Acer W500 problem free.
Overall Review: A few months ago I replaced the 32GB mSATA SSD in my Acer W500 and when searching for an adapter I found this at another shop. Great item, worked as expected and I'm happy to see it carried at NewEgg now.
Pros: Does the job of converting msata to sata which I needed to dump ghost image.
Cons: Expensive just for adapter, but is an actual enclosure if you wanted to use msata drive in a laptop with 2.5" slot.
Overall Review: The other option Syra adapter was out of stock and I needed one ASAP. Got this one Next day Air and Newegg shipped it day I ordered which helped a lot!
Pros: It does exactly what it says (a rarity these days in the world of tech)!
Overall Review: Although it is beyond the scope of reviewing this product, the only thing StarTech can do is make a tiny USB 3.0 enclosure that is just big enough to house a mSATA SSD. That would be beyond amazing because no one has one on the market at this point. Until then, I'll keep using these in standard 2.5" USB 3.0 enclosures. Either way, I'm very happy.
Pros: This is an update to my prior review. This StarTech product turned out NOT to be cause of any problems. I did in fact use this product in finally finding the solution to cloning to my Intel SSD. Turns out the first Intel SSD ran hot. With a replacement SSD, I was able to use this product with a USB external enclosure to copy/clone files. I now have it inside a laptop with a mSATA SSD - no problems.
Cons: In my opinion, the enclosure should have holes or some other way to allow for better hea dissipation. SSDs like the Intel 525 will run hot, and despite the manufacturer's claims, this enclosure pretty much seals the circuit board and SSD inside.
Pros: Excellent device paired with a WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB Internal SSD - SATA III gave my 5 year DELL AIO a new lease of life, boots in seconds.
Overall Review: Excellent device (so far) time will tell.
Pros: Worked like it was supposed to. Had a M.2 SATA from Western Digital that won't work in today's M.2 slots because today's M.2 slots as a rule only work with NVMe. Now it is just like a 2.5" SATA SSD.
Cons: Difficult to assemble. The directions didn't track on assembly. The screws to close the case weren't really aligned right and wouldn't go in right. All small issues but couldn't give 5 eggs because of it.
Overall Review: Startech makes good stuff. Missing a little quality here but overall it works well. As always it would be nice to include an extra screw because they are so small dropping one and losing it is easy.
Cons: 3 for 3 had cold solder joints everywhere, Sata connector was too tight also.
Overall Review: No more StarTech products for me.
Pros: Easy to slip in the mSATA drive, screw everything down, and you're ready to roll. Fits in any laptop-sized SATA bay.
Overall Review: Took a boot OS drive from a laptop in order to upgrade it, so this made a great portable SATA drive for me when coupled with a USB adapter and USB 3.0 speeds...
