Question 1

Do the four USB 3.0 ports supply power when only the A/C adapter is plugged in and the device isn't plugged into a computer? In other words, can I use all seven charging ports with no computer present?

I don't normally use mine without being connected to my computer but according to the manual I could recharge my devices using the three charging ports based on the current requirements of the device be charged.    However, I did try to recharge my cell phone using one of the USB ports without it being connected to the computer and only using the AC adapter and it charged it fully.   I have no idea how long it took or what the status of the cell phone battery was at that time.   When I connected it to the Hub it immediately started charging.    According to the manual the only difference between the 4 USB Ports and the three Charging Ports is that the Charging Ports cannot be used with devices that do not require charging...Flash Drives , etc.   I doubt that you could recharge a Tablet using the Charging Port and only have it connected to the Computer and not use the AC Adapter. How long is the included USB 3.0 cable?

It's not very long at all.

If you are using this on a desktop and your system is a couple feet away and you want the hub with dedicated charging ports on your desk then you will need a USB 3.0 extension cable.

You have 2 options : 1. Get a Male to Female USB 3.0 Extension Cable. or 2. Get the same one just with the proper length for your application/use/scenario. It's like the one you would use for a old regular home printer but in USB 3.0.

Hi, looking at the front where the charging ports and data ports are located, the box itself is about: 4-3/8"Hx1-3/4"Wx15/16"D (Actual Dims:4.339"Hx1.775"Wx0.950"D and for our metric pals:110.2mmHx45.1mmWx21.1mmD) It is made of heavy (.085"/2.2mmThick) extruded aluminum with .040"/1mm covers attached w/ 4 screws on each end.
If you click on the "Specifications Tab" in the product description, they call out: 0.90" x 4.30" x 1.80" (H x L x W)

We have several Apple devices (iphones, ipod touch, ipad) that I would like to charge all at one charging station.  I'm looking for a a/c mounted  only (NOT CONNECTED TO A COMPUTER) charger for this purpose.  Would this work?  Do I need one with the USB 3.0 ports for charging tablets (I've read ipads take 2.1)?  There is a similar version of this charger with only 1A & 2A ports and I don't know if that is what I need instead of this one.  This one says ONLY the 1A and 2A ports are dedicated charging ports....what does that mean?  Any help would be appreciated!

I bought it because my corshare K70 was making a painful white noise with the lights on WHILE using earbuds. It needed more power. The dedicated charging ports dont transfer data, they're just for charging. It worked, no more white noise with earbuds on with back lighting on. It should be compatible with apple but it doesn't come in white.
