will this allow you to connect a computer without hdmi port to connect the computer to a big screen tv and play video off the computer from the internet?

Accepted Answer

No, it only has HDMI ports. This device will allow you to connect 2 computers (with HDMI video outs) to one monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

You would need a port on your TV that matches what your computer outputs. Or use a adapter for what you have (dvi, hd15, etc. to HDMI)

Can I use it in reverse and connect it to one computer so I can switch it between two displays ie a TV and a regular monitor?

I'm sorry no. This switch is specifically designed for two inputs and one out put. What your describing is a simple video or VGA data switch not a KVM switch. Search for VGA switch should work fine.

Question 3

Does this switch work with 4K screens @30Hz?  Currently I run a Seiki SE39UY04 using HDMI cables.  I'd like to be able to use a KVM switch on it.  FYI, 4K @ 30Hz is electrically equivalent to 1080P @ 120Hz.  Any thoughts?

I have run two different setups with these switches at 1080p and saw no loss of picture or sound quality. If you are correct in that 4K at 30Hz is equivalent to 1080p at 60 in terms of rise times, pulse widths, and signal levels then my years of fighting digital signal issues in long cables plus the agony of the fields and waves courses says it should work. If not truly equivalent then all bets are off.
