The description mentions volume control.  Is there a mute switch for the mic?

Will this work with a 2011 Macbook Pro?

This headset uses a pair of 3.5mm connectors, one for output and one for input.  If your Macbook Pro has a separate input/output audio jack, this should work with no problem.

There are some versions of Macbook Pro which have a single audio jack.  For these devices, you will likely need a separate adapter to make a headset like this one work.

Is this new? Comes in box and all or is it refurbished?

Yep, Its basically brand new , comes with practically everything you'd find from a retail package. I have two side by side ( older prebought new ) and this one, and i cant tell the difference, the only difference I could see was slightly damaged packaging ( such as the hole to hang on a rack in a store was torn) but in no way does that effect the product!

Question 4

Will this work on a mac with 10.7.5 and dota 2? I have other headsets that work on my mac, but will not work in dota 2 for some reason.

This is a great headset however do not get the refurbished pair. I think they lasted about three months then the microphone died/Shorted out. If you go brand new with a warranty then I would suggest these headphones. Not sure about these working with Mac though.

I already have a 5Hv2 can I use this headset with the USB connector that came with my 5Hv2 ?

I'm not 100% sure, asks someone to borrow a set of ear buds or something similar and try it first. If it works, then it should work on any set, even this one. hope that helps.

Is the mic too quiet for voice? My last headset was terrible in voice chats as I was very low even with gain turned all the way up.

I've never had any friends complain about the clarity or volume of my voice. I've listened to recordings for videos, of myself talking into it and it seemed clear with plenty of volume.
