Does the controller remember which channels were set to automatic and which were set to manual after power off? If not which mode does it default too?

The controller has a on/off switch for each fan. There's no "memory." The speed is set by a knob, and whether it is on or off is set by the switch

how does this unit handle different fan sizes,  say one 120 and two 80mm.  Does it send the same power to all three or does it control the rpms of all three the same?

Accepted Answer

It will send the same power to every fan hooked up to it. Unless you set it manually. It is an excellent fan controller. I own two of these. One is hooked up to 6 120 mm fans, including two high performance ultra kaze 3000 . The other is in a htpc. It has 4 80 mm fans and a 120 on the heatsink. I use the Manuel setting to keep the 80 s quiet. And the 120 can still run off the own signal from the mb.

Can I connect 4 Delta Fans 12V 1.6A to this controller?

If each one of those fans will be on its own channel, it should be able to handle them. 1.6 amps is just under 20 watts.
