Pros: Purchased 1/26/2010. Died 6/2/2010

Cons: When it worked, this drive would occasionally read my SD card after a reboot. I never tried any of the other cards slots but the USB continues to work. I had to revert to my netbook to copy my pictures from my SD card to a USB drive so I could copy them to my PC.

Overall Review: Manufacture does not support drives past WinXP SP1. I hardly ever write product reviews, but this drive truly did not meet my expectations.

Pros: Easy install. Looks good in black. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. No difficulties in 6 months. Great price.

Cons: Cards stick out of reader while using but if you're not incredibly clumsy, it's no problem.

Overall Review: Multiple drive letters but if you typically use multiple drives for storage anyway, this should not be any hassle or bother. Most users gravitate to 1-2 types of cards anyway so you learn which drive letters are in use quickly.

Pros: Plugged it in and started transferring right away. No lights shining on the front or weird drives showing up in My Computer until a card is plugged in.

Cons: I dunno, i had to take the side of the case off?

Pros: The best replacement for your floppy drive slot, works well

Overall Review: The only annoyance, and it has nothing to do with the product, is the fact you will get 6 more drive letters in Windows. If you only use one type of memory card, you can easily disable the ones you never use in device manager, so that you can get rid of all of these drives from Windows Explorer. It will remove confusion when looking to access the memory card.

Pros: Everything works at full speed. I am running 64-bit vista; it was recognized and all drivers were installed automatically. Fits in my case perfectly (Cooler Master Storm Scout).

Cons: It does assign unused drive letters, but it doesn't bother me. You will want to install windows before this device or your OS disk will be assigned a ridiculous driver letter.

Overall Review: To everyone who thought you didn't need drivers, they will be surprised to find out that ALL hardware requires drivers. Most modern operating systems automagically recognize and install the drivers. Particularly for USB devices. Sometimes software doesn't work the way it is supposed to, but that doesn't mean it is the fault of the device or the manufacturer... complain to Microsoft or use some alternative OS like Ubuntu. That said, I had no problem with Vista driver installation

Pros: Does everything it is supposed to. Organised and well layed out. Would buy another if needed. Some times you get what you pay for, other times you get more. This is a case of getting more.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Bought two and use the heck out of them.

Pros: This card reader was easy to install (there is only one wire to plug into a USB header on the mobo) and is very fast once its up and running. I bought this to read memory from my digital camera -- it has drastically reduced the amount of time it takes to transfer data versus connecting directly to the camera by USB. No more fiddling with cords, and none of the sluggishness, lag, or battery wear that I experienced when the camera was directly connected.

Cons: I did run into a minor problem trying to install multiple new devices at once. Vista hanged indefinately on boot up the first time, but I got around this problem by installing the card reader on its own once everything else was up and running. I'd also like to see more strategically placed screw holes for secure mounting. I could only get screws into two of the provided holes (one on each side) given the design of my case.

Overall Review: Each slot has its own drive letter and shows up as a "removable risk".

Pros: All-in-one reader - slots for CF, SD/MMC, microSD, SmartMedia, etc. I got it mainly for the dedicated microSD slot, and for its reported support for Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC). So far, it works with my 2GB SD card, and after some trouble I finally got it to work with my newly purchased SDC/2G microSD cards. Installation into my case was a breeze, though it did not work with screwless mounting. However, I do not mind using a screwdriver.

Cons: As stated above, I had trouble initially with this reader. It would not read my SDC/2G cards. It simply caused WinXP to hang. I tried drivers other than the default MS Mass Storage Device drivers (provided from supertalent.com support page), but that only made things worse. Windows was hanging, and even having trouble booting. Once I recovered from that debacle (reverted WinXP back to the last known good working condition), I wrote off all use of the reader for a few weeks. In the interim, I had updated the BIOS on my motherboard, and there were a few MS Updates as well. I decided to try the reader again today, and lo and behold it worked with everything I had to throw at it.

Overall Review: I was about to be one of the people that gave this reader a poor review, however my opinion has changed dramatically. I deducted one egg for the difficulty experienced, though I cannot lay the blame on the reader with certainty. Before you give up on this reader, give it a fair chance. If needed, contact SuperTalent tech support, or your mobo manufacturer's tech support. Maybe you will resolve your issue with a BIOS update --- maybe it will be another fix. Just give it a chance, and you should not be disappointed.
