will this work on lga1155 motherboard with an Intel core i7 2600k?

Since I really don't know any of the specs of the motherboard in question, or the processor, I'm really not sure if it would work or not.

Question 2

Will this cooler mount on a non Supermicro MB?  Namely an Intel s5520hc?  I've been looking through different Supermicro coolers and it seems everyone specifically uses them with Supermicro MB; I've also seen lots of comments on different coolers about them being made specifically for Supermicro boards.  Thanks.

This cooler is not adjustable for any other form factor. Specifically Supermicro boards have built in backplates with screw holes coming up from below rather than a threaded screw rising up out of the board (as most coolers have). As a result you MIGHT be able to get this to work on a standard board but you'd need to find and buy the necessary parts, and customize your own backplate to avoid damaging the board during installation. As a result I would not suggest trying to get this cooler to work on a non-SM board. Other coolers claiming compatibility is because the form factor is the same board layout, but the glued-on backplates on the SM boards make the process difficult.

Does this coming with the 'mounting bracket'? The older model specifically comes with this part, did you have to buy another piece to make it work?

This is for the server 1366 socket. The underside part of the mounting bracket comes with the motherboard. If it is just the 4 empty holes you need the consumer socket 1366 Grayson.
