This board has a HDD power connector. Does this require an additional power cable connection to supply power to the usb ports?

Connection to the power supply is recommended to assure reliable/adequate power is provided to support HDDs and other power sensitive devices are connected; however, I never got this far because the placement of USB connectors (crosswise on the bracket rather than lengthwise) prevents proper installation/connection in standard case adapter slots.  I don't think this configuration should be manufactured/marketed as it is. I've learned the hard way to stick to USB adapters with connectors running LENGTHWISE on the mounting bracket!

Does this work on windows 10 64bit system?

Yes, I am running it on mine right now. I have two external USB drives on my system, and it would occasionally hang on reboot until I unplugged the drives. After installation of this card, they work perfectly. The system recognized the card and installed the necessary drivers on the first boot after installation.
