is this a pci-e x1 slot or just a pci express 2.0?

It's one slot but the ports are on the side which doesn't leave much room to plug it if there is a board next to it. I had to leave an empty slot next to it to give clearance.

Any idea if a 6 TB hard drive would work with this card?

I have no trouble using a WD 6 TB HDD with this card.

Could I use this to connect my Blueray sata drive or no?

Yes as long as your motherboard has a pci express 2.0 port

This card is not half-height is it? I have an HP Compaq small form factor.

It comes with both the low profile and full height brackets

Can you plug your boot drive into this?

I don't think it would be advisable to plug your primary boot drive onto this... But the answer is Yes you can.

Will this work with pcie 3.0 1x slot?

Yes, yes it will. I got my on a pcie 3,0 x 8, but that is because I wasn't using it. Good luck.
