What to do when the product has the wrong software install with it?

I got the syba 4 port USB 3.0 adapter and it had the wrong driver disk software so this is what you do. Look at the type of chip name and go to their website. Look for the install for that chip and then download it. It covers all version of the adapter made with that chip and also in a windows installer setup for it. It will look and then remove the wrong drivers that windows put in for the hardware and then update to the right one. In the device manager it will refresh and show that it's been installed with the corrected name. Don't rely on the disk they send because 9 out of 10 times windows see's new hardware and assumes it has the right drivers so won't let you install anything to correct the problem.

what is the molex power feed? The cable is like nothing I've ever seen. Is it the same as the power feed for a hard drive?

You're right Robert, it is the same as a hard drive power feed.  Some external USB devices pull power from the USB cable so the extra power is needed for this type of attached USB device.

Question 3

is the molex power plugin like the ide type power plug for a hard drive? Tje cable sent with this will not plug into anything on the motherboard. The other end looks just like the normal power plug you would use for a drive power plug.

Yes the power feed is Molex. The kind that was used in older IDE drives.

The adapter that comes with it is a Molex to Sata. It plugs into the card and then plugs into a sata power adapter. You should use it only if you have no molex power conectors available in your power supply.

Advice though, this unit stopped working for me after just a few months of use. Not very reliable.

I am looking to add a USB 3.0 card to my Asus P5Q Pro Turbo Motherboard I only have two different slots available 3 PCIe x1 slots and 1 PCIe 2.0x16 slot I would prefer to use one of the PCIe x1 slot if possible? If possible which card will work?

With this card work with USB 2.0 devices?

I know it's advertised to work with 2.0 devices, but I have not yet tried it. I've had back problems; the card is available at the back of my desktop, on the floor under my desk. Sorry....

Do installation instructions come with this unit and step my step how to install drivers etc.?

Yes it comes with driver disk and instructions. Was very simple to install. I can never have too many USB 3.0 ports.

it won't do the software update and device manager says there's a problem with the card. Tried to disable uninstall and update but it won't take the update. So how do I get it to install the drivers?

unplug it from the board when the computer is powered off and unplugged.power up the computer,  then install the update, then reinstall the card. Alternatively, you can disable the card via the device manager, restart, install the update, then enable the device through device manager, then restart. I had to physically remove the card, and I'm not sure why, but it did work. I am not sure if you have the update file on hand or what.

I purchased this part from NewEgg and received it today. I installed it in an office-use computer running Windows 7 64-bit using as motherboard a Jetway J939Turbo-G  (BIOS dated July 21, 2005; AMD socket 939, cpu Athlon64 FX-57, 4.0GB DDR.) This single-core mobo comes with USB 2.0 and 2 slots of PCIe x 1 (Revision 1.0, I think).  I have the Syba PCI-Express To SATA II controller card in one of those PCIe x 1 slots. I plugged in a power cable to this Etron card. The red light on this Etron card lites up as do several green lites on the card.  I installed the Etron software from the CD that came with the card & rebooted.  Win7 Device Mgr does not show the Etron controller. I have tried several flash drives in the card = nothing happens = no recognition of the card.  What's wrong?  Why doesn't the Etron card work?  What can be done to get it to work?

You can try another slot. If the other slot is already used, remove that card. You can sometimes plug a PCI-E card into a standard PCI slot. If the 2nd card is an audio or video card try putting it in the PCI slot & the 3.0 USB card in the PCI-E slot. I had to try several combinations to get it to work on my Gigabyte GAp55ud3 motherboard. It should, if the motherboard has a usable PCI Express slot.  
They have usually only one, PCIe slots.
