Overall Review: This USB audio adapter saved us! We bought an expensive laptop and found our Skype calls were having problems. Speaking near or far from the laptop's built-in microphone didn't make a difference; we kept having drop-outs. The big problem: The laptop had only an earphone jack; there was no jack for an external microphone. Although I had never seen an adapter like this, I somehow imagined it might exist. Amazingly I bought this adapter, plugged it into one of my laptop's USB connectors, added my mike and headset plugs, and I was off to the races! Using the USB connector for this audio application seems to bypass the faulty component on my laptop and high-quality audio is achieved completely devoid of the drop-outs we experienced with the laptop's built-in microphone. This adapter works like a charm. I highly recommend it for anyone lacking two standard audio jacks or anyone needing to bypass their system's normal audio circuitry.

Pros: Small, cheap, works with OS X, Windows, Linux without questions. Sounds too good to be true!

Cons: Not great for crowded USB ports. It is too tall and too wide to be near other devices plugged into the back of the computer. Output seems really loud to me, but nothing a simple volume control doesn't fix.

Overall Review: Mind you, this is not a true sound card. It does not off-load any audio processing to the small device (did you expect as much for $10?) and therefore, if you are doing more intensive audio projects, this may not cut it as it relies on your CPU. This is especially noticeable on ATOM based computers. [-0.5] Also, you should keep in mind that the audio in port is MONO, not stereo like most plugs. It can accept a stereo plug, but you will only record in mono, possibly a summed signal. [-0.5] For the price though, this thing is well worth it, especially for the Hackintosh community. This is definitely NOT for the audiophile nor pro-audio tech.

Pros: All the boom booms and rat a tat tat tats stopped coming out of the front hetphone jack on my puter so I bought this little gizmo from NewEgg. Just plug this little guy into the USB port and BOOM sound! It was completely brainless a complete idiot could use it as it is totally plug 'N' play.

Cons: Can't plug them into other non-computer places and make sound come out of it :(

Overall Review: Definitely beats having your little brother sit by the computer and try to have him dictate what he thinks the sound should sound like

Pros: Can replace as broken jack without going inside a machine.

Cons: Sound quality on the output is far inferior to motherboard based sound, not just a little worse. I, unlike any other reviewers I read, needed the input as well, only about once a month. I could never have the input and output plugged in at the same time without a horrendous buzz. Individually they worked ok, but having to pull one to use the other just wont work.

Overall Review: It seems to be limited to basic sound output for a broken laptop jack.

Pros: Bought it for Hackintosh through recommendation. Works without additional drivers. Excellent!

Cons: The quality is decent, but nowhere near any onboard audio I've used.

Overall Review: This is a great device if your onboard sound dies as mine on my Asus P5B did. But if you want top quality sound, keep looking!

Pros: Cheap, sounds good.

Cons: Extremely loud. If you use earbuds you are going to have to turn windows volume down to around 5%. There is also a noticeable amount of white noise/static that can be heard even with no audio playing.

Pros: * I confirm works with Windows 10, 8.*, 7, XP * I confirm it works with many Linux OS's, NixOS, Ubuntu, Mint, Archlinux, Crunch Bang. * Length is on the smaller side, doesn't stick out as much as others do, so it makes it less likely it will get banged yanked or pulled in weird ways. * Audio is as expected, its not a studio device, I have not preformed a frequency test on it yet.

Cons: * It looks fragile, if I give it a good yank or bump it, the thing might just break or even in worse case break my USB port. * This device does not come with an USB extension cable to help prevent port damage. * It is rather wide, if you have close quarters USB ports you might have issues plugging a device in next to it.

Overall Review: I use multiple OS's so its nice to have a audio device that can carry over to all my systems with out fussing too much, in ChrunchBang my on board Audio and HDMI Audio does not work no matter what I did, however this worked first try.
