Does it have 2 MAC address's not like a hub, like a real switch? Does it work in Linux?

I have one of the cards but it's not currently installed on a computer.  According to the Syba documentation it supports Linux.  I looked at the card under a magnifying glass.  Each port has its own Realtek TRL811E chip so I'd say it would have its own MAC address. The documentation states it has "1-lane (x1) PCI-e with Transfer Rate 2.5Gb/s Full Duplex Channel" so it can handle both ports running at 1000 Mbps.

Does this card support teaming and if so where could I find the software used to setup the card? Thanks!

The CD bundled with this SYBA Ethernet card does not include any NIC teaming software.
My setup is a Windows Server 2008 R2 VM (on Virtualbox).  And I did not try to team my multiple NICs in the VM.

W2K8 does not support NIC teaming natively.
Win Server 2012 does.
I have NIC teaming running perfectly on my other box running Win Server 2012.  The pair of NICs are TP-Link TG-3468, which you may find in Newegg.  There is no nic teaming software on the TP-Link's CD as well.

No it didn't. However,  the Roswill RNG-407 dual did. I purchased both.

Does this work with Windows Server 2016?  The Realtek driver page lists Windows 10 but not Server 2016 currently.

As far as I know, Windows Server 2016 is the server edition of Windows 10.  I tried this card at the end of December 2016 with driver version 10.012 dated 11/21/2016 and could not get it to work under Windows 10.  I then tried the card in a retired Windows Server 2003 machine and it worked there, so the card itself was okay, just a driver problem under Windows 10.  As I really only needed one additional NIC, I went with a single port adapter (also with a RealTek chip) which did work.  As of this writing 04/29/2017 the latest driver is 10.016 dated 04/18/2017 but I  have not tried it.

What performance are you seeing with PFSense?

This depends on your cpu, ram, isp speeds not on os for pfsense

I have one that is 1GB wan 2048 ovpn encryption to an identical one to bridge two locations several states apart and if i test downloads and uploads i get 900,900mb but this was a custom designed router with this in mind

In short pfsense works on all levels from home to enterprise

Pfsese website has a guide on vpn speeds needed for cpu and ram

Does this card have a buffer?

No Buffer, ok cheap card, but haven't gotten it to go above 3600 MTU and seems to have issues transferring over about 800Mbps

It's been quite a while since I've peered inside a GX520, but I believe so. The card is very compact, so clearance shouldn't be an issue. And the GX520 doesn't use low profile card brackets.

How do I setup teaming? I installed the latest Realtek drivers and Diagnostic Utility. I do not see anywhere to setup a team.

Believe it or not, I bought the card because A) it was on sale and extremely inexpensive, and B) it's a 'toy'. At some future time, I'll want to experiment with it. However, as of now, I've not even taken it out of the box.

A new PC, which I've just cobbled together, also came with dual Ethernet ports on the motherboard and frankly I really don't know what to do with the 'other' port.

However, to answer your question directly, go to Google and simply ask the question: "How do I set up teaming with dual ethernet card". I just did that and got some 114,000 hits. Try it...you might find  your answer!

Does this work in a mac pro?

Due to size constraints, probably not. Your Mac pro has 2 gigabit ports on the back, if both are blown, I would personally see about using your apple care warranty to get service.
