Question 1

Will this card read drives in a raid tower as individual drives (aka non-RAID mode)? My last one did but it is not working in my current motherboard.

I personally use this as a raid card. The drives did show up non-raid and you must raid them in the utility. I would say yes, because I've yet to see a card that would not load the drives separately. You may have seen one that did, so on that note you may know more than me. Newegg asked me to respond. Wish I could be more help.

Question 2

I just need to clarify. Can you use all 4 ports, or is it one of those "either internal OR external" type cards?

"Utilize either two internal SATA port, 2 external eSATA ports, or 1 of each"

Question 3

Does this controller support large drives?  4TB, 5TB, even maybe 8TB?

I asked Syba support whether this controller will support two 8TB drives.  This was their response:

In theory this card should work with two 8TB drives. However we do not have any 8TB drives to test on the card ourselves.  This card is compatible with GPT which supports partitions up to 18 exabytes.

Will this card work with windows 10 ?

Not sure, we haven't made the switch to 10 yet. I'm running ours on Server 2012R2.

Well, it's really an issue regarding the driver of the card and the VM software being used. You can check the compatibility of the VM software on their site.  Otherwise, you could also contact the manufacturer. Good luck!
