Using the JMB585 chipset, the SI-PEX40139 can provide extra 5 Port SATA III to any free PCI-e x4 slot with PCIe Gen3 x2 bandwidth. For the storage solution based on data transfer of multiple hard drives, the newly added FIS-based switching design can overcome the bottlenecks created by operating multiple SATA storage devices simultaneously. The data transmission rate of the JMB585 can achieve to 1700MB/s, which is the maximum transfer speed of PCIe Gen3 x2.

Pros: 5 SATA 6Gb ports. Comes with regular and low-profile brackets. Comes with 5 SATA cables. Windows 10 built driver is the best on for it. Has separate activity LEDs (not plugs - see below) for each SATA port.
Cons: Took a week to get it. Option ROM would not load on the AMD board that I purchased this for. That means I cannot use it for a boot drive. Did not come with any drivers. Found one on Syba's website for JM585. Had to manually install driver from device manager which caused the computer to reset. Driver caused other random resets. Performance was also less so I rolled back to the 2006 MS basic driver. Got 540MB/s read and 510MB/s write with 850EVO 250GB and MS driver. No way to connect HDD activity LED to card since there are no pin headers. You have to have a clear side panel and maybe a mirror since the card and LEDs will face down in most cases. Maybe modifying a fiber optic cable would work to route the light to the front.
Overall Review: Tried in another (Intel PCIE 3.0) system and the option ROM loaded and could be used as a boot device. The downloaded driver on that system did not cause a reset but did reduce read and write speeds. I do not know if the problem was with the AMD chipset or that fact that the system is only pcie 2.0 but I am trying to upgrade an older motherboard to have SATA 6Gb to remove the SSD bottleneck and it not working makes that impossible. I did upgrade the motherboard BIOS to the latest and could not find a firmware update for the card. The only working solution I have is to use a Perc 200 in IT-mode but that slows down the post by like 20sec
