YES, This is an excellent duplicator for SSD.s.  My first test was to copy my
OS on an SSD.  It was fast and easy with the one button copy and the 3.0
USB cable.  Buy and try, you will Love it.  I also liked the auto shut off feature
that allows your drives to cool off.

This looks like a rebadged version of the "Dyconn Dubbler Dock (DUBDB)" also sold by Newegg.... with a slightly different skin. It is so similar in operation, including the 4 status lights.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

E D the Dyconn Dubbler pro version, which looks like it uses the same underlying hardware has, in addition to the hardware cloning capability, software which can clone from a larger disk to a smaller disk. Though both Dycomm Dubblers (pro and non-pro) cost more than the Sybis.

The Dubblers when used in hardware cloning mode operate faster than USB 3, as the data transfer is done internally within the Dock. My personal experience with 120GB SSDs is that it is much faster than any software based cloning. And so much much much easier. I will never go back to that prissy temperamental and unreliable software ever again.

When duplicating a drive to a larger drive, does it resize the partitions to make use the full capacity of the larger drive?

No, what it will do is make an exact copy of the drive to the larger drive and leave the rest of the space as unused. After you hook the drive up to the computer, if you are using Windows, then you can use Windows disk management and expand the drive volume to use the unused space. It's an extra step but you do get whole use of the drive that way. Be aware though, if the drive is larger than 2TB you must use the drive with GPT for the boot partition instead of MBR or you will not be able to use the entire drive space. If this will be a Windows boot disk, instead of an additional drive, then the motherboard must be using uefi for GPT use and recognition of a drive larger than 2TB.

I bought one of these units. I have been trying different combos of hard drives. How long would it take to clone a 2TB to 2TB hard drive? I have had this last try in for about 24 hours. I am getting two flashing lights on the right side. The other lights are solid.

Could be bad sectors on one of your hard drives. Check your hard drive with some kind of utility. Hope that helps

Can I clone/duplicate a 1tb hdd to a 480gb ssd with this product? I have Win 8.1 on a 1tb drive,but I'm running Win 10/8.1 in dual boot. I know! I know! I should have partitioned and put both OS's on the ssd and used the 1tb for programs and such,but this is my first build and I ain't perfect..................yet! ( :

Built-in cloning function does not allow bigger capacity to smaller capacity clone.  Third party cloning software may allow this.

I have this product with a 6 TB WD Black installed as an external drive. My only issue is that it "goes to sleep" if I haven't accessed the drive recently and takes 30 sec or more to wake up, which is annoying. Anyone know how to prevent this? I've been through the Power Options control panel, device manager, etc. and turned off what I can find. No luck so far. Seems to be built into the Syba itself.

Hopefully there is a true fix or setting for this but in the meantime use a tool like KeepAliveHD on CodePlex (search google) or one of many programs that will poll the hard drive to keep it awake. Even a batch file or script doing repeated dir might keep it awake. Not ideal but should do the trick. btw some hard drives have a manufacturer utility to adjust/disable sleep but you may need to have the drive connected directly by SATA to update the setting then move the drive back to the dock & test.

Does this really only support drives up to 4TB and NOT the newest 6TB size???

Yes though it's not very tasty toast. Plus it takes forever to make toast, works better w/ Hard Drives.

Can I mirror the drives and use the mirror as my time machine device on my iMac?

I use this on an older macbook pro.  To mirror and time machine you probably need both bays and 2 drives.  Each is different function.  I use it only for time machine, but have cloned the system drive a time or two.  Perhaps partitioning single drive would allow both, but it would have to start as a big drive, maybe 3 times your system drive being cloned.
