Question 1

I have a MSI board with the USB 3.0 Blue cable connector and USB Rear ports,  this hub works with 2.0 usb ok but will not work with usb 3.0 devices.  is there some kind of trick to this ? Notes usb 3.0 devices work on the back of the pc,  I have installed 
100's of hubs on new builds this is the first time I have run into this problem.  defective ?

Yes, my usb3 hub connects to the main board Via the blue connector that is made just for usb 3.0,  I can plug a usb 2.0 stick into it and all is good  plug a usb 3.0 the light flash's 2 times on the stick and nothing else.  I can take the same thumb drive and plug it into the back of the pc into the blue usb3.0 ports and she fires right up.    so it must be defective.  I'm trying to get RMA on it though iv had it in stock for a wile.  used it on a new build 4 days ago.

John, it looks like your questions have been answered. The system board on your system does not have the USB 3.0 header, nor a 3.0 internal port to plug into. However, if you have a PCI-e slot available, you can use this solution:
Koutech 4-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Express (x1) (3x Ext + 1x Int) with 4-pin Molex PoModel IO-PEU434.
I . You can then connect the USB 3 cable between this unit and the internal usb 3 slot on the card. Gives you 3 more USB slots on the back of the machine as well.
