The activation starts once you install the software.  When you install, you have to enter the activation code (included in the box).  This will start the 365 day clock...hope this helps.

I have been using Norton 360 for years and currently have 215 days left on my subscription and was wondering if I buy this now can I wait until my subscription is up to install this or do you have to install right now? This is a really good price.

You can buy it now and wait until the end of your subscription to install it, as far as I know.  I've installed prior years versions of Norton products before and have had no trouble.  They've always given me the full 365 days. BUT, once you install it to the first PC, that starts to timer for that product key so that any installs of the remaining two copies will end on the same date as the first copy you installed using this product key.  So you can't install this on a PC now and wait to install it to the next PC after 215 days and expect to get 365 days on that PC.  You'd only get the 150 days remaining from when you installed the first copy.
