Richard - When you load this software onto your computer, you get a 365 day subscription.  After the 365 days, you must renew your subscription.  You can do this by buying the 2015 Norton software next year.  If you do not renew your subscription, you will no longer receive the daily security updates, so it is essential for you to renew your subscription every year in order to get the latest protection for your computer.

Is this a retail box sent to you or a download ?

This appears to be a retail box, which is the format I bought. You have to be careful as Newegg has on occasion sold it as a download. I remember that that format was clearly labeled as such and that you were actually sent to the Norton site (this happened prior to payment). Just read carefully, though, as I've said, this certainly appears to be a retail box.

Does all three subscription begin at the time its is installed on the first PC?

Yes, that is right. The subscription for all three PCs expires in 366 days after activating it on the first PC regardless of when you activate it on other PCs.

Is this for MAC as well?

This package is PCs / Windows only.  Norton has a specific package for Mac as well as their '360 Multi-Device' package for both Mac and PC.  I think Newegg has it on sale as well.

If this is like other Norton Internet Security products that I have bought, the subscription starts when you install the software and expires one year after that.  Note that you are required to validate your installation over the internet at the time of installation.  The one year time period starts when you install the software on the FIRST machine, and ends one year after the first machine install for all of the (up to 3) machines that you have a license to install the software on, regardless of the fact that they may have later machine install dates.
