I have Norton now and will the subscription be a renewal and starts once my current subscription to Norton expires?

No.  It will be 1 day from the day you install it.  So, buy it now, then save it until your old subscription expires, then install the new one.  You don't actually have to uninstall and reinstall.  You will have the option to put in a new key which is included in the box so wait until the last day so you don't lose any days off of your subscription.  I usually start shopping for deals like this months before my subscription expires, then purchase it and save it until I need it.  Great product!

Question 2

I will purchase the Norton products when on sale and in advance of my current subscription expiring. I typically purchase the boxed version, but it is currently sold out. How long do you have before you are required to actually use the Norton activation key?

Hi, not sure. I've purchased (when on sale) in advance (maybe 3 or 4 months ahead of time before it was needed). When my subscription ended I deleted my old program and installed the new download with it's key and everything worked fine.
I found if I input the new (1-year) key before my current subscription ended (say it had 45 days remaining) it didn't add an additional 365 days to the 45 but reset the subscription to 365 days.
Don't know if that's of any help but it was my experience.

Is the product key come with the download?

If you're buying at Newegg, you will get an email from them with the product key and a link to Norton for the download.  When you click the link to Norton take the time to open an account with them.  Doing this makes it easy to track your downloads for multiple devices.  Below is a text copy of what the email will kind of look like.  In the actual email there're a few active links to click on including "Norton Setup".

can you get two and get two rebates?  It says one per person per household, So does that mean if you have 2 people in your household you can get two rebates in different names?

in the fine print of the offer from Symantec they say "Symantec limits the amount of rebate requests across all Norton rebate promotions that are submitted
per household or organization in a year to $250. Further, Symantec reserves the right to deny requests for rebates if other factors indicate a violation of these terms and conditions".  I suspect that they can cross-reference the household street ADDRESS, contact phone numbers, etc to detect multiple submissions coming from the same place.  Personally, I would ask a friend at a completely different location/address to make another purchase for me to later use.
