Can I download this to apply on one device now and save the additional downloads for later, when those  devices protections are closer to expiring?

My understanding is that you can add the protection to your devices at any time. However the subscription for updates and support (1 year renewable yearly) begins when you install on the first device. Also Symantec accepted the remaining days of my subscription when I upgraded. So I had the 1 full year plus the few days from the past subscription. You can contact them via phone support once you create an account and have them add the days if they do not show when you upgrade. I have used the phone support a few times and it is excellent. Lastly I have often  found I can buy each year's new version for less than a renewal..go figure?

Is there an annual fee?  How long does this provide protection before you have to renew or purchase a subscription?   Thanks in advance.

You get the same one year as always. You buy the program and before a year is up* you buy another one or pay Norton directly to renew. The opening screen tells you how many days are left. It runs out one year after the first installation. Install later on another device and you get the same number of days left as on the first. They all work the same way, I believe.
They tell you that downloading online is better then using the disk, if you have one. To activate, you will need the "product key" - enter it when asked; it will automatically skip to the next set of numbers - you won't have to do it.
When using the computer, messages might pop up telling you, for instance, whether something is safe, like an Adobe update for example. Otherwise. the program isn't intrusive unless something is important.

* If you renew or install another Norton you will get the days remaining that weren't used added to the new one. Never pay full price for a security program - monitor prices and wait for it. They used to give rebates, making the product very cheap, even free but that seems to be over.

note I still have about 5 mos. of Norton 360 will it extend if I buy Norton security or will it cancel out remaining coverage of 360?

It will be a new licence so you'll have 2 licences running simultaneously. You can either wait until your current one runs out or contact them and they  can add the new license to the time remaining on the current one.

The subscription is for 1 year. The 1 year begins when you have installed the software on the first of up to 5 household devices (PCs, laptops, Macs, Tablets, phones).

If I have days left on my current subscription of Norton Internet Security will it extend or delete and reset the days?

Hi, you won't lose the days you have left on your current Norton's program/subscription, they'll be added to your new one.  For example: if you have five days left on your current program when you use add the new key to your current program you'll see that you now have 370 days left, instead of just 365.

However, be sure to purchase the exact Norton's program you're currently using. For example: if you had "Norton's Internet Security 2015" but then you purchase only the "Norton Security" program, that won't extend because it's kind of a downgrade from your previous version.  So be sure to purchase exactly what you have now if you're looking to get those last few days out of your existing Norton's program.  If you look, you'll see there are several types of Norton programs available from Symantec, such as Norton Security, Norton Internet Security with Backup, & Norton 360.  If you're concerned, just wait until the day before your Norton's expires to add the new key.

Also, you may notice on some different Norton programs that you're required to remove the current Norton program when you install the new one.  It's fine to do that and you'll even see during the process where it gives your the option to carry over your previous settings and things if you like.  I recommend that you do that.

does this include all computers desktop or laptop?

Norton Security 5 device is for Mac's, Androids, iPhones, desktop computers and laptops computers. 5 devices's as in just pick 5 of your devices and install.

Question 7

What is the difference between this version of Norton and Norton 360? I am currently on Norton 360 (3 devices) for another 73 days, so if this has comparable features, then I will purchase. I do not use Norton's backup feature either since I backup to an external HDD if that helps.

I believe Norton Security is a new product.  It has  all the same features of Norton 360 except the backup feature.  But you can protect upto 5 devices with Norton Security.  As is it a different product you will have to uninstall Norton 360 before you can activate Norton Security.  So finish you Norton 360 remaining subscription before installing Norton Security

It is the latest version.  Released a few months ago.  If u upgrade u do not get this version.  U have to purchase it in-order to have it.  That is the catch with Norton.  Price goes up and down.  just have to keep an eye on it.  Price usually changes every couple of weeks.

How does a "product card" work?

It's easy, just go online to Symantec / Norton after you receive your product code, and it will download your product. It will ask some questions about security and backups (I don't use backups) then it will tell you to install and you'll be done. Wait for it to completely install before moving away from page because sometimes there is a delay and you may think it's done but it's not. The instructions are on the download code card.
