Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Mermaids Nintendo DS Game

Mariana the Mermaid's undersea kingdom is in danger from a mean, garbage-dumping octopus! Its up to Dora and her monkey pal, Boots to travel over the land and under the sea to put a stop to the polluting and return Mariana's magical crown. Along the way, they must also keep an eye out for Swiper the fox.

Young players will guide Dora around islands in over two dozen simple, but entertaining adventures. Use the stylus to help Dora pick up trash or scrub a whale. Players can call characters using the microphone. They can talk to mermaids and ride on the backs of dolphins as they search for the crown jewels to make the magic crown work. Identify colors and learn to count along with some words of Spanish as you find out more about the ocean and its inhabitants along the way.

All this is accompanied by a lively island music background. Voices from the original Nick Jr. show are used and instructions are clearly spoken so no reading is involved. The 3D graphics and tropical backgrounds are brightly rendered and faithful to the show's appearance.
