What memory did you use to upgrade to 4GB?

Since they will not let you link in this area, If you search Google for "Memory Compatibility List - Thecus" You will see the chart from the manufacture of what they have tested / recommend.  However when searching for good prices on any of the options listed on that chart I could not find any. I did however have already have a stick of 
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model F3-1600C9S-4GRSL - From NewEgg and it works flawlessly. If you stay with the factory image of Windows Storage Server you can only go up to 4GB with the 1 stick. But I have been able to put 2 of these stick in and install FreeNas, But warning the memory seems to get hot and Thecus says it is unsupported.

do you have this in a Mac configuration, and does it support RAID 6?

it supports a variety of access protocols, including CIFS, SMB1, SMB2, SMB3, and others. The MAC should support CIFS.

Configurations do not use hardware RAID. It uses Windows Storage Spaces (bing/google it). It supports both (single/dual) parity and (single/dual) mirrored spaces. It also supports both NTFS and ReFS. I've got two (big) mirrored volumes, one ReFS and one NTFS (because I wanted to play). The Dedup on NTFS is working well (using it for audio and video files, but it does find stuff). Depending on how fancy you want to get, you can argue REFS with integrity streams, and dual-parity spaces gives you RAID-6 and better (i.e. end-to-end data integrity).

I do not recommend buying consumer grade HDDs for something like this. If you care about drives not screwing up regularly, get the enterprise grade SATA drives. And yes, they cost more.
