Great Heatsink!!! 4/7/2008 10:51:14 PM

Pros: This is one of the best heatsinks on the market. Yes you need another fan, but you should have a case fan and be using the duct. I used a Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F which works great. That fan moves a lot of air and is quiet. Be sure to get a case with a 120mm case fan.

Cons: Looks like cheap thermal paste sent in the box. I used Arctic Silver 5 instead.

Overall Review: Seems like Newegg can not keep these in stock, which is disappointing.

Great for a quiet PC. 3/14/2008 3:02:03 PM

Pros: Replaced the atrociously loud factory Intel heatsink. Mounted a quiet Scythe 120mm fan on it using the included metal clips, because it was too hot if I tried to use it passively relying on the airflow from 4 quiet 120mm case fans.

Cons: Not easy to install due to its size -- having to reach around it to pin it into the motherboard.

Overall Review: Have been using this heatsink for a year without any problems.

Passive E6600 12/4/2007 1:12:23 PM

Pros: This is a very good passive cooler. (that you can add a fan if you really want to.) I did not use the duct. When I build my next HTPC, I'll be using this, no doubt about it.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I got this after a review from Anandtech. Never had a need for overclocking, but thier review showed that it handled OCing well.

great cooler, bit pricey 11/15/2007 2:45:22 PM

Pros: Excellent cooler. Installation was easy, included fan duct is a nice touch. Kept my E6600 idling at about 30-32C and around 35-40C under load.

Cons: You need a fan to make this work, and that costs extra. I'd recommend a variable speed or low-speed silent fan, which will run another 10-15 dollars.

Overall Review: I had this in a silent system with heatpipe cooled mobo a passively cooled videocard, and a couple scythe fans and it was so quiet I couldn't tell if it was on or off unless I looked at the LEDs. If you want a silent, cool running system and you are willing to pay a few extra bucks for it, I'd definitely recommend this product line.

Difficult 10/21/2007 7:43:52 PM

Pros: Very great at keeping your cpu cool when OCing.

Cons: very large. The install I did for my roommate took a bit of patience. HS was stood out so far he had to leave he side panel off. The wire pins included to hold a fan look like stretched out paper clips. Had to bend to make the fit.

Overall Review: Make sure your case has enough room to accommodate this HS and that the side panel fan doesn't hit. It fit fine in my case, he had trouble. Overall great cooler, if you have the room to spare.

No more whining 10/11/2007 9:06:48 AM

Pros: If you want silence, this is the heatsink to buy. The heatsink itself was easy to install.

Cons: The duct that came with it was a little challenging since the space between the heatsink itself and my 120mm in the rear was a little tight.

Overall Review: I use this to cool down an Intel 6300. No problem! Even with high load I can touch the heatsink without scalding myself.

Works great when it stays in place 9/25/2007 9:39:52 AM

Pros: Great cooler, core 2 stays cool all the time with just the case fans

Cons: huge, retention bracket sucks. After moving the case I've had the system shut itself off only to find the heatsink unattached. Retention clips are cheap plastic and poorly designed, not even close to adequate for holding it in place

Overall Review: All around a great cooler if you can get it to stay in place

Forget passive 6/19/2007 9:03:17 AM

Pros: NONE

Cons: No passive cooling .No fan.No fan mounting provisions(cheap wire clips). No retention bracket.Very heavy.Expensive.False advertising claims.

Overall Review: After I did some research found out has passive C/W of .84.Thats not good. With case wide open,e4300@stock,no fan, temps soared to 70+ at dead idle in BIOS in 20 minutes.RMA'd for a cheaper HS w/fan.Probably works great w/fan,but thats not why I spent good$$ on it.
