Pros: It's a really great cooler with a little work. Q6600 @ 3.2GHZ Idles at 34 with case. 54 with 100% load. Ambient at 21. Stock cooler 39 idle and going to far over 60 with a load to even think about overclocking.
Cons: Warped base. Flimsy clips. Kinda Heavy. This is a great cooler I don't know why they would let one leave the factory with the sorry warped base. It's got great potential if you lap it.
Overall Review: How cool do you want your CPU to run? I didnt want water in my case so I chose this. Prepare to spend a lot of time lapping the base. I started with 220 grit till I got it almost totaly flat. Then I went to 320, 600, 800, 1000, 1500 and 2000. I finished it off with head light lens polish that you can find in Autozone. It's this blus stuff that has a mild abrasive in it. It put a mirror shin on my cooler base. I recommed the blue head light lense polish highly. I also lapped and polished my cpu. I used two small turn buckels to help support the free end of the cooler so I did not have the full weight of the cooler on my mother board. I used tiewraps to tie a RExus120mm panflow fan to the cooler. Lian Li P60APLUSII case, Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R, Q6600, 4 gigs Corsair Ram, 8 Seagate Barracuda ES ST3320620NS 320GB hard drives in 4 raid configurations 3 raid 1 and 1 raid 0, SILVERSTONE OP850 ATX12V / EPS12V 850W. This only had 1 12v power rail. No worry about the balancing rails thing.
Pros: Seems to cool my Q6600 2.4Ghz (Not overclocked) sufficiently. The Q6600 is not overclocked, neither my CPU nor the Ultra-120 Extreme have been lapped, and I used AS-5 instead of the Thermalright supplied thermal compound. The 4 cores run between 39-42 degrees idle, and 42-55 degrees under load as reported by CoreTemp (Ambient temp around 27). The Ultra-120 Extreme/S-Flex fan combo seems to work very well and quiet.
Cons: This thing is heavy...really heavy. It seems that a small percentage of Ultra-120 users have a problem with the weight of the thing overloading the mounting system they supply, and causing it to sag on the motherboard. I had this problem. It was sagging enough to cause the CPU not to seat properly and shutting down the machine. It took myself, and many others, a long time to track this problem down to the sagging of this heavy cooler. Once the problem was found, fashioning a velcro suspension strap, supported by the case, to take some of the weight off of the cooler solved the problem. I've only heard of others experiencing this a few times, so it seems that its a very small minority. Once this problem was addressed, the cooler worked terrific. The fan clips are a little tricky to attach and seem a bit of an 'afterthought' solution to attaching the fan to the device. The physical bulk of the cooler will cause it to simply NOT fit in some cases.
Overall Review: Should you choose to use the popular S-Flex fan along with the Ultra-120 Extreme, the unit becomes a bit more expensive than other solutions. If the cheap 'fan clip' device that they use to attach the fan keeps the price down, then great! However, they should have included MUCH better documentation. I think people would have been less frustrated with the clips if better documentation was provided. Check your motherboard layout (As the size of the Ultra-120 may interfere with heat pipes on some boards), and check the dimensions of the case this will go in. My CoolerMaster Stacker 830 Evo is just over 8" wide and the Ultra-120 fits with about an inch to spare from the side panel. I wouldn't bump, move, or jostle a system with an Ultra-120 on it, as the stiffness of the springs on the mounting system SEEMS to want to let the device sag. Once installed, check for sagging and if you start getting mysterious shutdowns that look like a PSU problem, you might want to check for 'sag'.
Pros: This is slightly smaller than the Vanessa cooler on my old system yet it does a phenomenally better job.
Cons: The fan clips are a bit finicky
Overall Review: I have a Q6600 G0 stepping OC'd to 3.005ghz (25% overclock) and the cooler holds the idle temps down to ~32C and the load temps to ~47C
Pros: This product is freakin' amazing. It keeps my Core 2 at 66F idle, 80F load -- I previously had a water cooling unit, which I decided to use on another OC'ed computer, so I bought this to replace it. It works better than that water cooling unit did. This product is just awesome, and Newegg was excellent as usual.
Cons: Instructions suck. Only enough clips for one fan.
Overall Review: Make SURE you get a fan that does not have guided mounting screw holes. The area between each hole for a respective screw must be CLEAR, otherwise the clip will be able to go into the hole. Hard to explain, but compare the holes for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999479 to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200021. The first one will work, the second will not. Make sure your fan is like the first one.
Pros: The best money can buy for air cooling solution. Big its an understatement, HUGE its the right word. Looks awsome , best performance of them all. No other cooler gets closed to this one. easy installation.
Cons: It has to be lap , if you know a little about overclocking you will lap it. Spend 2 hours lapping to a completely flatness and shiny because it came with a bump on the middle, convex.
Overall Review: Umbelievable performance on air , onced laped and pair it up with a Delta 120x38mm 220CFM I was able to overclock my core 2 Duo E6600 to 4.1Ghz totally stable with temperatures of 42C , but im an extreme overclocker , to give you an idea how good this Heatsink performs while overclocking go to Guru3D.com and look for my overclocking records there ;) Sincerely: chispy
Pros: Superb HSF. Installation was very easy. The backplate design is very good. The Tuniq company should buy an Ultra 120 and look at the backplate and fix their own. The Ultra 120 is better than Tuniq 120 at dissipating heat under load. I got a 5C improvement.
Cons: None
Overall Review: The fan clip install instruction should be much clear. Also, you need to get a fan that has 4 back holes so the clip can hook into. For example, the Silverstone FM121 will not work but the Silverstone FM123 will.
Pros: Definately works!
Cons: Install is a little tricky, depending on your case design. Very tall, may not fit in some cases.
Overall Review: I put this (paired with Scythe S-flex SFF21F)on my C2D6750 running at 3200MHz. In an Antec p182 case, I "cut in" three Scythe S-flex SFF21F in the side panel and also have one more in the optional spot in the drive bay. They're all controlled with the Zalman MFC1 fan controller. my CPU yesterday under no load was running at 23C! thats 73F! that's awesome for a cpu thats running 540MHz over stock specs. enough said... well execpt that NEWEGG ROCKS!!!

Pros: Great cooling. Dropped my idle temps by 5 degrees C. Upgrade from my coolmaster GemenII. Running 2 Scythe S-FLEX fans, super quiet.
Cons: Tight fit, had to revert back to my non-120cm fan door on my Armor case. Came incredibly warped, took a LOT of lapping to correct. Only one set of mounting brackets included, but 2-4 paper clips can be used to mount a second fan.
Overall Review: Don't buy this unless you plan to lap it. Aside from the warping, great product. Not as heavy as I expected, it's not warping my mobo or anything like that (Mounted vertically in a tower).
