How tough would it be to rotate the fan so that it blew away from the knob that looks to be the speed control knob?  I'm looking to mount it to the underside of a floating shelf to blow air into an underside intake through a hole I put in the shelf.

The speed control knob can be removed and flipped to the other side of the Fan. You just unscrew it and flip it around. Ive done it a couple times actually for different uses. Once i mounted it to my PS3 to pull air out of the case, another time I mounted it to push air into a computer case. The little stand piece can be unscrewed also. You just need a Phillips screw driver
