Can these be used as a High Airflow case fan?

I use nothing but these fans in my case and I love um.....I got the riing 12's and the riing 14's I do not have any issue with the amount of air they create flowing threw my case I use them on a 120mm rad a 280mm rad and a 360mm rad and two riing 14's in the side door ....I love um for the silence ...of coarse there not dead silent but quiet as all can be any how......if you need supper air flow id look else wear these put out what they say they put out in terms of static pressure and cfm....installed on my 360 rad blowing air out of case threw the rad these fans still blow a lighter flame out 2.5 to 3 feet away ....so in my opinion you will be very happy with these fans and at this price for three with the control box ...man you can beat it !

Question 2

Can these be plugged into any fan header on the motherboard?

Yes, these fans can be plugged into any fan header on the motherboard. The three fans all connect to the lighting/speed control module and then one 4pin pwm cable from the module to the fan header of your choice.

The module can set the max rpm of the fans to either 1000 or 1500, but using pwm you can have the spin at lower rpm's to reduce any noise (if any at all, mine are very quiet).

What do you need to plug in to the box to control the fans?

You do not need any additional wires or  accessories. The fans plug into the controller with a proprietary connector. The controller is then plugged into the motherboard directly with a four pin PWM fan connector.  The controller supports PWM functions, so if your motherboard tells the fans to speed up all of the fans connected to the controller will speed up.

The only time you need an additional cable is if you want to connect two controllers together.  All of the cables that come with the kit are very generous in their length  and you shouldn't have a problem.

Question 4

If i buy 2 sets will they stay synced to the default color loop or will they fall out of sync, i have a set that came with my case im thinking about buying another pack to go on my radiator...??

I have 2 sets, they fall out of sync on the default colour loop setting. This is utilising 2 controllers as only 3 per controller in my set up.

Question 5

What are the dimensions of the controller? Will it fit in a 2.5 drive bay/cage, etc?  Is the only option to use the adhesive to mount on back of tray or elsewhere in the case?

It should fit in a cage. I wouldn't suggest this product for one reason. When you cycle down your box the LEDs reset to no color and you have to open the box and press buttons on the controller to get it back to the color you had it at before.  This can be VERY annoying. I think NZXT sells something similar and can be controlled from software so you don't have to open your case to adjust it. I also think Thermaltake sells something else that uses software now. Question 6

Since I only have 2 motherboard fan connectors, can I buy three of these packs and hook up the three controllers to a pwm fan splitter without losing any functionality?

i don't see why not....this control box connects with a 4 pin i think .....its been awhile since i got mine ...but i cut the connector off and wired up a molex power connector and i still run the rpm wire to a MB header ;)

Does this come with the 4-pin pwm connector for connecting it to a mobo, or do I need one separately?

Yes there is a four pin PWM connector that connects the controller to the motherboard, then you connect the fans to the controller.  The controller is included in the single kit as well as the three pack, The controller is required as a controls the RGB lighting.

Can you use that extra PWM port for power?

It does not have a extra pwm port. It has 3 5 pin connectors for the fans. A 4 pin connector for the pwm connector to the mobo or fan controller. Also another 5 pin port that was used for programming the controller or so they say. 
In sort the answer would be no. If what you need is extra power as my fan controller could not provide power to 3 sets (9 fans) look in to Silverstone CPF04 or CobocLP43TX4-12.
