Will this work for a 17.3" Acer laptop?

I am currently using this for my AorusX7 17.3" laptop and it cools well and fits nicely. The front temp display and control buttons may be over hung by the laptop a bit, but won't effect the cooling efficiency or access to the buttons. Great performance at a good price point.

Would this be fine for a 15 inch laptop?

i recently bought this for my laptop which is a 17" and it tightly perfectly fits, if I had a chance I wish I could return this one and buy one for a 19" and would be slightly bigger which id rather have that instead of smaller. I would think this is good for a 15".  but I don't know if its me but I just feel it does a average to good job but still laptop runs warm hot at times. I don't know if they make or have a more powerful one which I would personally buy but this one is ok/decent.

Can this laptop cooling pad be set to switch the fans on and off according to temperature, or is the temperature display for information only ?
