I have 160mm of clearance in my case and an am3+ socket, will this fit my pc? And do i need additional brackets for an AMD socket?

Should have no problem; I don't have my 2 installs with these here to measure though.  Just be sure backplate is Not directly on mobo, need washer to raise back plate.    Have you considered Silverstone NT06-Pro!!!  Waaay more efficient, better mounting mechanism!!!  Depending on your CPU wattage, could even run fanless!!!  Very impressive low profile that's as good as even the big Phanteks.  You can even put a 140 fan on it for more silent operation.

Question 3

What kind of temps are you seeing during idle and load? I am not getting good temps on my stock i5 4690k and am wondering if its from a bad seat or thermal paste application.

I'm not getting good temperatures in my 4790K either, but since I applied the paste wrong and probably used too much paste too I cannot confirm is the TT cooler just yet. Next week I will change the paste to MX-4 and report back.
