Does it come with everything needed to mount on AM3 socket/processor?

Yes, it does. Mine already had the AM3+ bracket attached when I opened the package, and comes with the brackets for all compatible socket types listed in the specifications.

Question 2

I see that this has a fan speed controller but is it possible to let the motherboard control this automatically?  Thanks!

The product comes with a built-in mannually controlled fan speed controller(knob), it can adjust the fan speed mannually and smoothly from 1400rpm to 2200rpm.
It is NOT designed to be controlled by motherboard.
Currently, motherboard  controlled fan has 4 PIN connector which is called PWM fan. This one is NOT.
However, it is possible that you connect this fan to 3pin SYS_FAN connector on some motherboards and let the motherboard controll it like a system fan.
It's not a standard way though.

Will this work for AMD+3 does it have the hardware included?

Yes, it should. I installed it on an AM3+ socket, with an AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor. Works like a charm :)

Question 4

I have an AM3 board and a phenom II 6 core processor. I looked at all the clamps it comes with and I only see one for AMD. Is it just a simple clamp on or do I need to look for additional clips?

Unfortunately I am an Intel guy so I do not know squat about AMD but it does come with 2 clamps for AMD processors, the ones I threw out. It will cool your car engine down, it is pretty awesome and on medium speed you cannot even hear it run. Big thing is case clearance, its a beast, about 6 inches tall if not more, look at the specs and your case specs, make sure it will fit. A little tricky to install, take your time and be patient.

I am running an AMD A8-3870K CPU (so an FM1 socket). Will this cooler fit?

Is it possible to still buy the mounting brackets for 1366 socket?  I have this cooler and it has been awesome , but 2 of the opposing plastic anchors broke. (my fault)  I have been using a stock cooler since :(  Haven't been able to find any parts on the web anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Jerry, If I am correct, those brackets can be bought off EBay. I know that is where I go when I need odd parts sold separately. You can always Google this question, or type in "Intel 1366 mounting brackets". I hope this information helps.

Do you use this along with the stock cooler? or this would replace the stock one? what about the heat sink?

It includes a heatsink and fan.  I would not use anything except the included fan components (as they are prefitted to match fan dimensions and then will match Intel and AMD cpu slots).

Will this work for the AMD FX 8350 CPU?

have a v-1 cooling an 8320 now and it keeps temps in the mid 20 degree C range so it should work fine for an 8350.

what would make this cooler incompatible with amd fm2 chips?  i frequently see coolers that are compatible with those listed for this cooler in addition to fm2.

Nothing its compatible, though its a huge heat sink so id make sure it will fit in your case.
