I'm looking to add another hard drive to my system. my main hard drive is a 1.5 TB and is about 80% full. I also have another 2 TB Hard drive in the other slot. I want to leave both in place, but the only place I have for a third internal would be the empty DVD drive slot. I want to add a 3 TB Hard drive here using this device if possible. Clone my main drive and make it the new 3 TB Hard Drive and the old one use it as a back up. I have a HP Pavilion Model #h8-1214. Is this possible or what is my best solution?

Accepted Answer

The rack has a cable that connects to the SATA ports on the motherboard, so it should be possible as long as you have some SATA ports free to plug the rack into. I have a 1 TB HDD and a SSD drive already plugged in, I bought this so I can use another 1 TB HDD I have to put back ups onto. It works pretty well.
