Question 1

Is this an original Lenovo battery or a compatible one?

Accepted Answer

As the picture shows, it is a genuine Lenovo Thinkpad battery.

When the description says 'compatible part number' that means it is compatible with all those other Lenovo part numbers, the same battery has many numbers for different applications.

The battery I received is genuine Lenovo. The parts are being cleared out because they are old batteries for old computers which are not being made any more.

Great deal.

Question 2

Is this battery a genuine Lenovo battery that Lenovo manufactured?

Accepted Answer

Yes this is the real thing. It even had a recent manufacturing date. Lithium ion batteries lose capacity if they sit in a warehouse for years.

Question 3

Hours of life?

Accepted Answer

It depends on how much power you're laptop is draining. The battery has roughly 80Wh of capacity. My T500 uses approximately 15W running at a normal power level. That translates into 5 hours and change. If I make the screen bright and run some compute intensive applications I can get the laptop up to 30W and I will only get a little over 2 hours. On the other hand if I run it in power saver mode and don't do much it could run as low as 10W and I would get 8 hours. Look in your power control window under the battery tab and see what your laptop is currently using for power. That should give you some kind of idea what you will get. If your asking about how many hour you'll get out it over it's lifetime, that's really variable and I really don't have an answer for that. I will tell you that Li-ion batteries lose capacity over their life and probably are at about 50% in five years.
