can it work with a laptop that is just sata serial ata 150?

It has worked for me in that type of laptop setup. I have used this drive successfully in MacBooks as old as 2006 models (MacBook 1,1.)

However, here is a slight word of caution from the Internet:

Backward compatibility between SATA150 and SATA300 devices was intended, therefore SATA300 controllers were designed to fall back to SATA150 speed when connected to such drives. However, in practice some older SATA controllers do not implement SATA speed negotiation properly, and you can not be a 100% sure that a SATA300 hard drive will fit your laptop with a SATA150 controller.

Question 2

Is this drive usable in a Toshiba Netbook, model NB 505?  I mean the interface SATA III?  I think the Netbook is SATA II; IS THIS DOWNWARD COMPATIBLE?  Thanks.

Yes, SATA 3 is downward compatible with all prior versions of SATA. It will run at the speed of the version of the interface you are using. I am running SATA 2 in my desktop where I installed this drive and it runs great thus far, albeit at a speed less than what the drive can max out at.

Is this drive backward compatible with SATA II?

I haven't specifically tried with this specific ssd but I've run several sata iii drives on sata ii interfaces. Backward compatibility is built into the specification, although you'll only run at sata ii speeds.

is SATA III the same as "Serial ATA" with respect to a solid state drive to replace my Serial ATA hard drive on an older toshiba laptop?

Yes and no....yes the connector is the same.   No in that I, II, III would translate to faster transfer speed as the number got higher.  If adding the drive to an older device, buy the version appropriate for it....don't overpay for features that can't be used.

Question 5

Hi, I have a question about the voltage of this product. I have a PCU which offers only 1 15 Pin SATA connector, and I will have to get a Molex to 15 Pin SATA adapter in order to use this SSD in my computer. However, the Molex (I'm fairly sure), even with the adapter will only output 5 Volts. Will this SSD work with 5 Volts? What is the manufacturer specification? I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

If you google 'sata connector pinout', you will see that the power for any sata drive requires 12V (yellow), 5V (red), and the return (black), or otherwise known as common.  I see some pics out there with 3.3V as a grey wire, but I haven't actually seen a 5 wire sata power connector.  Every stat connector I've seen is 4 wire. This pinout info is not usually included with the drive as purchased.
