I am wireless to 2 computers and my brother laser multi-function is connected using wire so guess can say yes it can work as an access point depending upon what you are trying to do

The AC3200 User Guide only referenced MIMO as "Powered by
3x3 MIMO technology".

Does this router work well for QoS (I want to still be able to game while everyone else is doing whatever they do)?

I don't do gaming, but I do video streaming and there are no problems with others accessing the internet.  I have zero complaints with the router. Functions are as described.  It quietly sits there and does its job.

I plan on wall mounting the router. Is there any noticeable signal or power reduction if I leave the antennas folded down and not up?

Haven't seen noticeable degredation with them folded but it may depend on how large your space is

Can the router software keep track of how much total bandwidth each device is using?

No to my knowledge. To track bandwidth of each device on your network you have to run some sorts of traffic grapher. Like MRTG. Google it and hopeful that helps you.

Can it work with a vista laptop wirelessly?

I'm not really that tech savvy, but if you mean will it work with a laptop that uses the vista o/s wirelessly, it should. We are using it for 3 PCs hard wired with both Windows 7 and 8, with 2 chromebooks and a tablet wirelessly connected. I don't think it matters which o/s you have. It is a great router if you are needing more than 1 or 2 devices wirelessly connected.

Question 10

Can I start using this router without having a laptop or desktop ? I only have iPads in my house so I wouldn't be able to download any info from a disk.  I apologize for my crude knowledge of computer systems.

Yes. You can use it out of the box, with default settings. Not recommended, you should always set your own SSID and WPA/PSK password. You should be able to configure the router through the web browser interface. I have had NO problems with this router.
