yes. It has screw mounts on the bottom of it and would work best that way because there would be less obstructions and interference. If it's a two story house, make sure it's on an upper floor if mounting it that way for highest efficacy.

This is a router not a modem... you can use any router with any internet provider, it is the modem that you must check for compatibility

Can this be used as a stool?

Indeed it can, don't let the photo fool you, think coffee table though, it would make a beautiful center piece. Though lacking any information on how to achieve this in the instructions, it's easier than one may think, all you have to do is make sure the antenna's are fully raised, then flip it upside down (carefully, so not to harm yourself), the viola! Instant coffee table (or stool).

Does it support MU-MIMO out of the box?

The routers hardware does support mu-mimo but a firmware update is needed to make it work.  TP Link has not released this new firmware as of yet.  I do have to say that this is an outstanding router even without this feature.

Yes it does!  There are a few models that TPLink has that contains Access point mode and this is one of them.
