Range for large 2 story house? Router would be in corner of the house unfortunately.

That would be a horrible spot for any router. Expect dead spots as a result. Depending on how many walls surround the rooms you're trying to cover, as with ANY router, your results may vary. Additionally, of you can, position the router as close to the ceiling as possible, preferably towards the exact center of your home. You'll thank yourself later. Trust me.

Moreover, hopefully the firmware has improved since it first came out. When I first bought it, the firmware was so horrible that it caused frequent disconnects. Yikes!
