Ours is a 2 story wood frame house. The TP link is on the 2nd floor and the wireless router is in the basement. Performs fine at this separation.

I honestly don't know.  It should since it works with Microsoft. However you could hook up to a computer near by and use it as wifi range extender. You just have to set it up. Then tap into it with the 360. If they have wifi built in

How does one make the original setup to ensure the 433Mbps instead if 150 on the 5Ghz?  I'm using the AC on an N wireless modem and a 2.0 USB not 3.

The TP-Link comes with software that gives you options that let you toggle speed. The 3.0 USB is down scalable automatically to 2.0 USB you just won't have the enhanced speed USB 3.0 offers. On my Lenovo Thinkpad (64Bit, running Windows 7 Professional) Windows recognized the link with the resident software imbedded in Windows 7. It ran well and I was able to reload the drivers that had gotten corrupted on my laptop so my onboard WI-FI radio began working again.
