with no issues from any hardware or software.

It says right there in the description: IEEE 802.11n.
So yes, it supports 'wireless n'. I use one exclusively on the 5GHz band in n mode.

yes, its compatible with any modern motherboard that has that port. you just have to install the drivers from a cd that comes in the package.

Yes!  It is compatible with Windows 10.  I did an recent upgrade to W10, and the card works flawlessly.  The TP-Link support website for this product only shows through Windows 8.1, but it is working fine in my system after the upgrade.

How do I determine whether this card will work with my computer? Is it based on my mother board? And, are there different PCI slot sizes I need to look out for?

Hey Tobias. There are indeed different types of PCIe slots. There are PCIe x1, x4, x8 and x16 slots. This WLAN adapter uses a PCIe x1 slot (the tiny kind). Find your motherboard schematic; it'll be in the instruction booklet that came with your board. If you don't have one then Google what PCIe slots look like and ensure you have one PCIe x1 slot available for the adapter.

Hey Logan. Google your computer's model; I was able to find motherboard schematics for it, but I cannot post it here. Your motherboard has 3 PCIe x1 slots. This WLAN adapter uses one of those PCIe x1 slots. So, shut down your computer, unplug everything, and open the case. Ensure you have at least one unused PCIe x1 slot. This card comes with two back plates to accommodate ATX form factor cases, and minis.

It can basically be used in any PCIe slot but will only operate at x1 speed.

My computer is fairly old running Vista.  I have slots available, but am concerned if this would be compatible?

I'm fairly certain it will work for you. I am running windows 7, and it runs fine for me with no issues.

Something that bugs me however. The box/website clearly says:
"8.1/8/7/XP 32/64bit."

It does not say vista.

So what I can tell you is that if it doesn't work, you can try XP compatibility mode.
