Can you configure static IP address, subnet mask and gateway on this print server? Purchased one before that would not allow you to configure the gateway which made it useless on a network with multiple VLANS.

Yes it's fully programmable. It even broadcasts the netbios name of the attached printer

even if the printer requires a driver setup before use via usb ?

I have a Brother HL-2140 series laser printer. It requires drivers to use. I moved it from being attached directly to my computer to being on the network with this usb print server. I followed the directions and had no issues. The drivers were already installed on my computer. My sister connected through the network to the printer, and a dialog box gave her the opportunity to select the drivers from a list to download. She has had no issues connecting to the printer.

Will this support a EPSON WF 8090?

Officially, no (Google search "tl-ps110u compatibility list" for the list of compatible printers) but it does support other similar models so you should be able to get basic print functionality. I was able to print to an HP P1102w and it's not on the list either. 
Your mileage may vary.

Yes as long as the router it is connected to is compatible with Windows 8.1

can I connect this server to my lan wirelessly and not use a Ethernet cable?

There is no internal wireless card in the TL-PS110U. So, unless you have some sort of "RJ-45-to-wireless" device, this HAS TO BE WIRED to connect to your LAN. There are 3 ports on this device: power, USB (for printer), and RJ-45 (for LAN). Which means that you cannot connect a USB wireless LAN card, either.

Is the device compattible with a Toshiba e Studio 2307 Printer for a Mac and Windows Network?

Not sure about the Toshiba, but I have got my print server to print from win XP, Mac & Linux.  You have to install the printer software on each PC for it's own operating system.  Follow the instructions or google your printer driver for each operating system and follow the instructions.

Will this work with a scanner (not a printer), ScanSnap x500?

ScanSnap scanners use a USB connection.  This print server is for a centronics connection on a computer.  You need, and can only use a USB connection with the ScanSnap.

My printer has USB 1.1.  Is this print server compatible?

Accepted Answer

The USB standards are backward-compatible, so it *should* work.  Always check your printer in their compatibility list here: http://www.tp-link.us/resources/document/TL-PS110U_V2_CompatibilityList_141015.pdf  And if you do get it, keep in mind it may periodically stop working (at least mine did my HP CP1215), so reboot it every so often (I have my printer and print server on the same power strip so i can reset both).

Is this print server software compatible with Windows 7?

Yes. I am running Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8 on my computers.
BUT I believe the real purpose of the xPrintServer listed here is to have a portal from an Apple device to a printer WITHOUT Airprint devices. Since it uses the network printer drivers installed on a computer and shows all network printers as selection options it should work with any printer you have already configured as a network printer on your network.

Is it compatible with the Star Micronics TSP100 TSP143ECO Receipt Printer ?

I am not sure. We have used these with new and old printers alike and they have worked great. Most of the printers we have used them with were HP's but as long as it is USB 2.0 it theoretically should because it receives the signal from a CAT5\CAT6 and converts it to USB so its is just a median for the signal.
