I'm trying to preconfigure the switch with a static IP address in another subnet, or set it to DHCP (to get an IP address from a DHCP reservation). I just want to drop it in and go. As expected, whenever I switch the IP address or set it to DHCP, I lose the connection. What is NOT expected, is being locked out of the interface (I can still ping it). I have to reset the device to get back in. Anybody else had this problem of the interface becoming unavailable? How did you get back in? Thanks!

Hi.. When you change ip assignments then you will loose the connection. You should set the device to the static ip address that you want, then manually configure your computer to an ip address in the range that you set on the switch. After you have the new ip address in your computer (and your computer connected only to the new switch) you should be able to get back in the management interface.
