Do i need a specific router for this wifi extender?

I don't believe that you need a specific router, no.  The extender is designed to extend any wireless b/g/n network that it has access to as far as I know.  That being said, I had some problems with the extender where it seemed like my devices  were conflicting between connecting to the extender vs. connecting directly to the router itself.  I ended up not using the extender anymore because I needed to get a new router anyway because of a separate issue, and that router had better coverage.

Question 3

What is the power voltage? Can this be used only in USA??? (110 V) or can it be used across the world? (110V to 240V)??

Does it work well or are multiple units required to extend wifi from first floor to the 2nd floor?   Is it easy to setup?

They work well. You will need to remember that the throughput of the device is dependent upon the signal IT gets. So if you only have 2 bars TO the unit, even though you can connect to IT with 5 bars, for example, it is still, essentially 2 bars. They DO work well, though. I am still using them.

Question 5

When setting this up I have push the reset button on my router.  Do I lose the settings I made on my router ??..

I don't understand why you would push the reset button on your router. By pushing the reset on any router can cause some router to loose all settings while others just somethings. Normally you push the setup button on your router and then the setup button on the range extender to pair the devices. The setup button and the reset button are 2 different buttons. The reset button normally needs a paperclip to push while the setup button just your finger.

Question 6

When I try to pair my TP-WA854 with my router, only the 'power' and 'wireless' LED's light up. The 'wps' button on my router flashes for a full 2 minutes, but the rest of the TL-WA854 LED's never light up, and it doesn't pair up. What am I doing wrong?

It may be easier to not use WPS to connect.

Easiest way is to reset the TL-WA854 then from a laptop or other wireless device, disconnect from your main WiFi network and join the new SSID that will be advertised by the  WA854.

From here you should be able to access the admin interface and input your WiFi network SSID and pass phrase.

Once you save, the WA854 should join your WiFi network and you can re-join the network from the laptop or wireless device you used to program it. From there it is pretty much set and forget.

will this product be compatible with an 8o2.11ac router?

I do not think this would be compatible.  The standards this is compatible with are IEEE 802.11b/g/n

my led lights do not become solid can someone please help?

At what stage do they continue to blink? Have you already set up the device through the tp-link website? If so, are you sure all the information entered was correct? You can try resetting the device and starting over by pressing and holding  the button on the bottom. When you reenter your information, make sure the unit is plugged in close to your router. Once it has connected, it's safe to unplug and move.

It says that there's an ethernet port for a wired connection but I don't see where that port is?

how to stop the lights flashing on my tl-wa854re ?

I assume you read the instructions. If so, and they still will not stop, and I'm assuming it is not operational, return it. They are awesome at exchanges. I have 3 of these and they all work great. Not much of an answer, but with so little information to go on...
